About Pokémon of the Day

Pokémon of the Day is a daily five-round Pokémon quiz inspired by Worldle. Every day at midnight a single Pokémon from all 1,025 species across Generations 1–9 is selected, the same one for every player worldwide, and you have to identify it from progressively more revealing clues.

The first round shows only the Pokémon's base stats, HP, Attack, Defense, Sp. Atk, Sp. Def and Speed. You get six guesses, and after every wrong answer a new hint unlocks: generation, primary type, secondary type, evolution stage, and finally the first letter of its name.

Once round one is over (won or lost), you move on to the Pokédex number round, where coloured arrows tell you how close your guess is (red for far, yellow for warm, green for within five). Round three asks you to spot the one move the Pokémon can't learn out of eight. Round four is the same arrow concept but for height in metres, guesses within half a metre count as correct. The final round shows eight Pokémon, seven share an egg group with today's Pokémon (and can therefore breed), one cannot.

All Pokémon data is fetched live from PokeAPI. No account needed, no scores recorded, just a fresh Pokémon every day. Want to keep playing? Switch on Unlimited mode for endless random Pokémon.

How rounds are scored

  • Stats round: 6 guesses, one hint per wrong answer.
  • Pokédex #: unlimited guesses, but every wrong one counts. ±5 = exact green.
  • Move-out & Breed-out: one shot, pick the odd one of eight.
  • Height: unlimited guesses, tolerance is ±0.5 m.
