About Guess the Route
Guess the Route is a quiz about Pokémon spawn routes from Generations 1–3. You're shown six Pokémon that all spawn on the same route, your job is to pick the route. Five rounds, three mistakes allowed.
It rewards classic-game knowledge: Kanto, Johto, and Hoenn route encounters, no Pokémon Go quirks. If you've replayed Red, Crystal, or Emerald even once, you've got a real shot.
Frequently asked questions
- Which games does the route data come from?
- Gens 1–3: Red, Blue, Yellow, Gold, Silver, Crystal, Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald. We use canonical wild-encounter tables.
- Do legendaries or static encounters count?
- No, only wild route spawns. Static encounters, gift Pokémon, and legendaries are excluded.
- Why only Gens 1–3?
- Earlier-gen routes have the most recognizable Pokémon mixes. Adding later gens dilutes the puzzle pool with overlapping spawns.
